Kapsula kolekcija ili Kapsula garderober jeste koncept koji kaže da svaki garderober treba da ima nekoliko vanvremenskih komada koji će biti osnova za dodavanje trendi odeće. Do ove ideje prvo dolazi Suzi Fou (eng. Susie Faux) koja je bila vlasnica londonskog butika Wardrobe tokom sedamdesetih godina prošlog veka. Do popularizacije ovog termina ipak dolazi nešto kasnije, 1985. godine sa kolekcijom dizajnerke Done Karan 7 easy pieces. Ova kolekcija sastojala se iz jednog bodija, suknje, savršeno iskrojenog sakoa, haljine, jednog kožnog komada, kašmirskog džempera i bele majice, a ideja je bila da ovi komadi treba da omoguće tranziciju iz dnevnog u večernji autfit i od poslovnog do parti izgleda. Dona je za svoju reviju obukla devojke samo u bodije, a one su se onda na pisti presvlačile kako bi dočarale korisnost dizajnirane kolekcije. Ono što je takođe karakteristično za ovakve kolekcije jesu boje, odnosno, izostanak boja.
